What is a wedding show, and what can I expect at the Puyallup Wedding Show?
Think of the Puyallup Wedding Show as your shortcut through the wedding planning process. It’s where engaged couples come to meet the local vendors who could end up being part of their wedding day, all gathered together at the Washington State Fair Event Center. Photographers, venues, DJs, florists, caterers, dress shops, and more, all in one place. You leave with real connections, real ideas, and a planning to-do list that’s actually getting shorter.
Why attend in person when I can research vendors online?
Scrolling through vendor websites and Instagram feeds will only get you so far. At some point you need to actually meet the people you’re trusting with one of the biggest days of your life. The Puyallup Wedding Show puts you in the same room as the vendors serving the South Sound and greater Pacific Northwest region, so you can ask the hard questions, see the real work, and figure out who you actually connect with. Most couples cover more ground in an afternoon at the show than they do in weeks of searching on their own.
How much do tickets cost, and should I buy in advance?
General Admission is $5 through September 7, $10 from there through opening day, and $20 at the door after the show opens. Buying early just makes sense. And since VIP tickets are limited and not available at the door, if you’re thinking about that upgrade, now is the time.
What’s the difference between General Admission and VIP?
With General Admission you get full run of the show, every vendor, every feature, all day. VIP adds early access before the doors open to the general public, a VIP Swag Bag, a Bride to Be Sash, a chance at a $500 Alaska Airlines Gift Card, and more on top of that. Spots are limited and you can only get VIP in advance, so if you want it, grab it early.
Who will be exhibiting at the Puyallup Wedding Show?
A strong mix of local and regional wedding professionals across every category you’re likely shopping for. Venues, photographers, videographers, DJs, caterers, cake artists, florists, dress and formalwear shops, hair and makeup artists, officiants, invitation designers, honeymoon and travel specialists, and more. Take a look through our Local Vendor Directory before the show so you already have a game plan when you walk in.
Can I book vendors at the show?
Yes, and we’d encourage it. Show day is often when vendors roll out their best pricing and incentives, and the ones worth booking tend to get snapped up fast. When you find someone who feels like the right fit, go for it. Book at the show and you can throw your name in for Signed, Sealed & Rewarded, where you have a chance to win back up to 10% of your contract value. A nice perk on top of an easy decision.
What should I bring?
Good shoes are non-negotiable. The Washington State Fair Event Center gives you a lot of ground to cover. Keep your phone charged so you can take photos, save contacts, and pull up your calendar when a vendor asks about your date. A list of the categories you still need to book will help you stay focused. Most vendors these days collect your info digitally, but it never hurts to have a few address labels tucked in your bag for the ones who still do it the old fashioned way. We’ll have a bag ready for you when you arrive.
Who should I bring with me?
Whoever helps you make decisions. Your partner is the obvious one, but your mom, your maid of honor, a trusted friend, whoever is genuinely in your corner on this stuff. The right people in the room with you means fewer follow-up conversations and more decisions made on the spot. Plan for everyone to have their own ticket.
Do I need to have a wedding date set before I attend?
Not even a little. The show is worth coming to no matter where you are in the process, whether you got engaged last week or you’ve been planning for months and just need to nail down a few remaining vendors. A date or season in mind helps move vendor conversations along, but you’ll get plenty out of the day either way.
Is the Puyallup Wedding Show welcoming to all couples?
Without question. The Puyallup Wedding Show is built on the belief that every couple deserves to feel at home here. We welcome all couples and we expect every vendor at our show to do the same. Whoever you are and whoever you’re marrying, you belong at this show.
